Pedagogy is the act, science of profession to teaching (Merriam Webster).
There are various aspects of teaching and many parts of pedagogies- teaching styles, feedbacks and assessments.
Pedagogy , simply put is the study of different teaching methods.
7 principles of of teaching-
- Encouraging contact between students and faculty.
- Develop reciprocity and cooperation among students.
- Give prompt feedback.
- Emphasise time of tasks.
- Communicate high expectations.
- Respect diverse talents and ways of learning.
In learning theory, it is describes how a learner obtains, processes and retains information during learning.
Cognitive, emotional and environmental influences and experiences all play a part in how understanding or a world view is acquired or changed and knowledge and skill obtained.
Constructivism believes that students’ ability to learn relies largely on what they already know and understand. The acquisition of knowledge should be an individually tailored process of construction.

Why is this different from diversity and inclusiveness of marginalised in eradicating the Legacy of UK’s colonial and imperial history?
University libraries and archives are Eurocentric and does not reflect the culture of other peoples especially the African culture.
Coloniality survives Colonialism. It is maintained alive in books for academic performances, in cultural patterns, in common sense, in self images of people, aspiration of self, and so many aspects of modern Experience. In a way as modern subjects we breathe colonially all the time and everyday. (Maldonado- Torres 2007, p 243).
My practice as a fashion designer/ pattern cutter, in the curriculum, there is only one method of teaching- the western adaptation of body form and styles, other cultures and their ways of dressing are not discussed or referenced. When items or ideas from these cultures are used by international and established fashion houses of Europe, there are no mention of the sources or credits given.
