Mary was having a one to one tutorial with her students and I was observing her class and her pedagogy. I spent 2 hours with Mary observing her going through 4 students, three in person and one on-line in Japan with 8 hour time difference.

What do I need or take away from the tutorial?

  • Mary is very knowledgeable of her subject.
  • Interaction was very good.
  • She was encouraging to her student.
  • giving useful advice but never pushing.
  • Mary made her students very relaxed to express themselves.
  • Giving the students time, direction and care on how to achieve their objectives.

TOPICS DISCUSSED:

Mediums of communication in Arts.

Sounds, texture on-line, doodling and texturing writing using everyday ink, material and objects.

Distortion of images and

ON-LINE TUTORIAL:

Difficulty of on-line tutorial:

  • Time differences (the tiredness of the parties)
  • Interactions were not very clear especially in Arts and designs which is very visual.
  • Screen sharing was not clear and delayed for comments. It
    • As a student teacher I was encouraged , thank you Mary.
